Your wedding isn’t a trend, why should your photography be?

Why photograph with Film?

After almost 15 years of photographing weddings, I began asking myself a series of questions - which photographs in my career am I most proud of?  Which photographs do I still appreciate the most, even after many years?  Which photographs feel the most timeless?  Which photographs remind me of how the day felt?  What work would I want to be printed on my wall?  The answer to all of these questions brought me to the same conclusion.  Something in my film work continued to resonate.

Soon after this realization, I was inspired and I knew that artistically I had to pursue this approach.  I made the decision to focus my efforts on producing a truly unique and special photography collection for each wedding through film photography.  Not with the mindset of “losing” digital, but of gaining the unique benefits that only this medium could provide.  Ultimately, I believe photographing in film makes me a better photographer and yields truly unique and timeless photographs.
